Group courses

Are there breaks during the group courses for children?
All group courses include a morning break for hot drinks in one of our facilities. Children taking part in an all-day course also have a lunch break.
What should I give to my child for a full-day course?
We recommend providing them with sunglasses or ski goggles, a pack of tissues, lip balm, sunscreen and some money for snacks or drinks. Please remember that a ski pass and ski equipment, including a helmet, are required.
Where do the children stop for lunch?
On one day, they will stop at one of our partner huts and on the other days, they will stop at our Selvi Kids Restaurant, which is located in the main building of the ski school at Dantercepies street 4.
How does the selection for the group courses work?
On the first day of the course, the children (except those who are absolute beginners) go for a short snow run to check their abilities and allocate them to the most suitable group.
What should I do if I feel that the chosen level is not suitable?
In this case, please speak directly to the ski instructors directly on the slopes. If they agree, the participant will be reclassified.
What happens if my child no longer wants to take part in the group course?
In this case, the fee paid for the group course will be converted into private lessons. These can be attended by the child or any family member. A refund of the course fee is only possible if a medical certificate from a local doctor is provided, or if notification is received at least 48 hours before the course starts.
What can I do if my child is ill?
For group courses, a refund is only possible if you provide a medical certificate from a local doctor. Private lessons cannot be refunded, but can be transferred to another family member. If the sick note is received at least 48 hours before the lesson/course starts, you are entitled to a full refund.
Can my children be in the same group?
If they have the same level of skiing ability, they can be in the same group. Please communicate this preference directly to the ski instructors on the day of selection.
When and where does the race take place?
The race usually takes place on Thursdays. In high season, it sometimes takes place on Fridays too. Your ski instructor will inform you of the day and time. Alternatively, you can contact the Selva Ski & Snowboard School on +39 0471 795156.
How many participants are there on each course?
Groups are limited to a maximum of 10 participants.
Is equipment rental included in the course price?
No, but there are discounts and packages available for group course participants. For more information, please contact info@noleggiosci.eu.
Should the courses be booked in advance?
We recommend booking the courses in advance, as they will be closed once the maximum number of participants per instructor has been reached.
Will the course be postponed or refunded if the weather is bad?
No, the courses take place whatever the weather.

Private lessons

What is the difference between private lessons and group courses?
With private lessons, you have a teacher who is there just for you. In group courses, you are in a group with several other participants at the same skiing level as you.
How many hours of private lessons are advisable?
This depends on your level and your goals. We recommend three consecutive hours for beginners and two hours for those looking to improve from an advanced intermediate level. If you would prefer one-to-one guidance, you can book a teacher for the whole day (from 9 am to 4 pm).
Can I attend the lessons with a friend?
Yes, but there is an additional charge of €14.00 per person per hour. We assume that all participants are at the same level; otherwise, the teacher will have to adapt to the least experienced participant.

General

What is the minimum age for children to start skiing?
We recommend starting at the age of 4 at the earliest. For younger children, we recommend a one-hour trial lesson with a private instructor.
Do you have a shuttle service?
Yes, we have a shuttle service. This is for group course participants only and must be booked in advance. Participants staying in Plan de Gralba can book the shuttle for both the outward and return journeys at the end of the course.
Are the participants insured?
No, insurance is not included with the purchase of lessons or group courses. However, liability insurance is compulsory. Further information can be found here.

Ski pass

Do I need a ski pass for the beginners’ group course?
Yes, a ski pass is required for all group courses. Children who are beginners need a ski pass to use the Mickey Mouse carpet and the adjacent ski lifts.
